You’ve decided to sell your home and wondering where to start!?

The overwhelm is setting in. You’re sitting there asking yourself Where do I start? Well, here are a few guidelines to follow to get your home sold faster and for more money.

I’ve sold homes myself and understand the overwhelm you’re feeling. I found having a plan to follow can better prepare your home for those house hunters.

The first thing you can do is a big one, and everyone needs to do this in some manner, and that is to declutter your home. This can be a long process, but the sooner you get started the better. Take a really good look at each room and pack up anything you won’t need for the next few months. This includes any personal items including pictures. And remember, you’ve going to move the stuff anyway, so this just gives you a great head start! And just as a side thought, you might consider putting these into a storage facility instead of in your garage or stuffed into closets.

Number two make sure your home is spic and span clean. By decluttering and cleaning your home, it will look much bigger and brighter. Also, when a buyer sees a dirty home, they feel the home may not have been well kept and we don't want to give buyers any reason to look elsewhere. Help your home shine to prospective buyers by polishing the doorknobs and handles on your cabinets and making sure those floors shine and deep clean the grout.

Number three, You want to finish any of those little projects you started but didn’t get around to finishing, and be sure the structural or mechanical items, like your Air Conditioner and water heater, are in working order.

Number four if your home hasn’t had a fresh coat of paint on those walls for a while, you may want to consider painting. Although you may really like your purple kitchen, it may make your kitchen look like a cave to a prospective buyer.

These are some great tips and now I want you to think about creating a great first impression.
